Dr. Joyce Gunawan

Dr. Joyce Gunawan grew up locally, attending the California State University Hayward as an undergraduate where she received a bachelor degree in biological sciences.  She was then accepted to the prestigious New York University  where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.  After dental school, Dr. Gunawan received advanced  training in a residency program at the United States Department of Veteran Affairs in Sacramento for a year.  Upon completing her residency, Dr. Gunawan practiced for several years delivering community health based dentistry in both the Hayward and Union City areas.  Dr. Gunawan and staff stay current on the newest and best dental treatment options for her patient by participating in many hours of continuing education throughout the year. She enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering and working with National Dental Association and the Colgate Van providing free dental screenings and oral health education to school children.  She also participates at various local health fairs to help raise awareness about the importance of good oral health. Dr. Gunawan is a member of American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Southern Alameda County Dental Association.

Cristina- RDH and Assistant
Cristina was born and raised in the Bay Area. She graduated from Chabot College with an Associated Degree in Dental Hygiene. She splits her time doing both hygiene and assisting for our office. She strives to make sure every patient is warmly welcomed, treated like family and completely happy with their dental experience. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking in her free time.

Isabella–Dental Assistant
Bella, our dental assistant, was also born and raised in the  Bay Area. She keeps things running smoothly in the back. She ensures all instruments, equipment and rooms are clean and sterile. She is highly skilled with assisting in advanced dental procedures and techniques. She is happy to be working with such a high quality and family oriented dental office. She attends community college, is the oldest of 4 children, and in her free time enjoys listening to music, being outdoors, spending time with her family, friends and her dog, Spike.
